Volunteers, who are called “refugee buddies” at Integrationshaus, are a major pillar of our work with the residents and other activities. They help take care of single persons or families living at Integrationshaus, accompany them in contacts to authorities, support studying and leisure activities (e.g. foreign-language conversation, learning assistance), staff information desks and work at events.

There is a specific preparatory course for refugee buddies that is held several times a year. For further information, see under Projects and Programmes/Buddy Courses and Services.

Many of our residents are able to attend external training measures. These range from literacy courses to comprehensive secondary schooling. Nevertheless, many require additional study help and coaching for their degree. Whether in the language field, arithmetics or so-called study courses, tutors are desperately needed. Study hours are mainly from Monday to Thursday 4pm til 6pm. However, other schedules e.g. on weekends, can be organised by arrangement.
Our objective is to offer the aforementioned tutoring in groups as small as possible, that is personal tuition in order to further efficient studying.
